Nice Port

Property in Nice

The Port area of Nice combines the charm of the Old Town with the sea views that can be found on the Promenade des Anglais. A former fishing and commercial harbour, Nice's Port is now home to Yachts and Super Yachts that create an impressive vista. Nice's Port is bordered to the West by the Old Town, to the East by Mont Boron, to the North by central Nice's Riqiuer area and to the South by the Sea.

The area between the Old Town and the Port front beside Place Garibaldi is known as the antiques area, where one can find original antique shops clustered together selling a wide variety of quality antiques. Place Garibaldi has been renovated with the laying of the tramway and is now a wide expanse with cafes and restaurants, with the tramway lines cutting through the square.

The Port front has apartments with spectacular views of the smaller boats and larger yachts in Nice Harbour to the greater Mediterranean Sea in the distance. Balconies are less abundant than the Promenade des Anglais.

Nice's port front has, like the Promenade des Anglais, some road noise so it is not the area for the noise sensitive. The Port is undergoing some major regeneration projects at the moment and the potential for capital appreciation is strong.

Apartments on the Port front tend to be priced similarly to the Promenade des Anglais, while the streets behind the Port are considerably cheaper and comparable to the Old Town. Boulevard Franck Pilatte, located between the Port and Mont Boron, is a waterfront jewel with modern buildings and great sea views.
